P7S Signer

A P7S Signer is a software application used to digitally sign documents and verify electronic signatures using the PKCS#7/CAdES standard. When you sign a file with this tool, it generates a standalone .p7s file, which contains the cryptographic signature and the signer’s public key certificate.

Below is an overview of how to open and sign documents using a P7S Signer interface. 📂 How to Open and Verify a .p7s File

A .p7s file created as a “detached” signature does not actually contain the visual text of your document. Instead, it contains the mathematical hash used to verify that the original document has not been altered.

Launch the Verification Software: Open your desktop P7S Signer application or a verification utility like shellSAFE Verify.

Upload the Files: Most utilities require you to select both the original document (e.g., contract.pdf) and its corresponding .p7s signature file.

Run the Integrity Check: Click Verify Signature or Validate.

Review the Results: The software will match the hashes and check if the issuing Certificate Authority (CA) is trusted. If successful, it displays the verified signer’s name and identity details. P7S Signer (P7M and CAdES eIDAS Format)
